What is the best way to enter a sauna to get invigorate !?

Hello everyone!
My name is “Take” and I am the operator of “Practice of Sauna Activity”.
I’ve also got an easy-to-understand, live commentary on YouTube, so please check it out here (only japanese)!

I’m sure there are some of you out there who are thinking, “Saunas are all the rage these days, and I’d like to try one, but I don’t know how to get in,” or “I have an aversion to saunas”.

This time, we would like to teach those people how to take a sauna bath!

This article will help you…
・You will learn how to take a series of sauna baths.
・You will feel “in shape”.
・You can get the title of “Sauna Saunter”.

Let’s go!

Preparation

Yay! We’re at the sauna (public bathhouse)! Take off your clothes and go straight to the sauna!

Absolutely not.

To get into a sauna, you need to do a little prep work. Nothing too fancy!

(1) First of all, you must wash your body.

This is an action commonly known as “cleansing yourself” among saunas.

In Finland, the home of sauna, it is said that “sauna = church,” so you should not enter the sauna with your body still in contact with the outside world (outdoors).

After all, you and everyone around you will feel better if you enter after washing!

(2) You should do hot water bath or water tightening

After washing your body, you should either boil your body in hot water or water-tighten your body!

What this means is
do hot water bath: in winter, soak in the bathtub to warm up a little before entering the sauna.

water tightening: in summer, take a little cold shower before entering the sauna!

By doing so, the parasympathetic nervous system (the nervous system that becomes active when you are relaxed) will become active because you will feel “good” and the effect of the sauna bath will increase!

Of course, there are those who say, “I prefer a hot bath even in summer! or “I only take cold showers in the winter! There are, of course, those who say, “I prefer hot baths even in the summer! You just have to find what feels good for you!

Sauna

Difference in temperature

Now, it’s time to go to the sauna! Let’s go in!

Before entering the sauna, wipe your body well! If you enter the sauna soaking wet, the heat of vaporization will cool you down after you have entered the sauna and started to warm up!

The sauna consists of several tiers, and the higher the tier, the higher the temperature! Beginner saunas should start from the lower level!
And wipe off your sweat as you go!

Once you have found your place, sit down! We recommend you to sit on your knees.
This is because putting your feet on the bottom step will create an uneven temperature!

Now, when you have warmed up slowly, it is time to get out of the sauna room!
The ideal timing for exiting the sauna room is said to be “twice the normal heart rate,” although this varies from person to person.
If your normal heart rate is 60, you should get out at 120.

How do you know that!

I hear you say, but you can take your heat and water resistant smartwatch with you!

me

I’m a sensory guy, and when I feel “It’s about time.” I’m out!

But don’t hold back! As soon as you think it’s about time for you, get out!

Water bath

coool !!

Now, let’s cool down your body at once! Let’s get out of the sauna and go straight to the water bath!

Absolutely not.

Before taking a water bath, be sure to splash or pour water over yourself!

Some people do not like to take a water bath.

However, the act of using only the lower half of your body because it is cold is not acceptable. It will make you cold!
If you just can’t stand water baths, go to a facility that has a water bath with a higher temperature, or take a shower at the very limit of what you can tolerate!

The best time to get out of the water bath is when ”your exhalation becomes cold”. Or “about a minute”!
Reason being, it is said that it takes a minute or so for the cold blood to make its way around the body!

At this time, do not move your body and remain still. It is called “angel’s robe of feathers,” and even though you are in the water bath, your body will become gradually warmer!

Do not be patient during this phase.

Outside Air Bath and Inside Air Bath

Now we come to the quintessential part of the sauna: the outdoor and indoor air baths!
Get out of the water bath, wipe off your body and head for the indoor or outdoor chairs!
There are chairs where you can lie down for a bit or regular chairs, I recommend the former!(In the photo below, left)

Then, wipe off all the water from your entire body, and when you lie (sit) here, you will feel as if your body will stop moving and your consciousness will disappear quickly and easily.
Yes, this is “invigorate”!
That’s one set so far, now back to the sauna section !

Conclusion

How was it?

Sauna is a single word, but there are three phases, each of which has a different effect on the body and creates a state of “conditioning”.

Generally speaking, 3-4 sets are preferred, but it really depends on how many sets you do in a day, so let’s give it a try first!

Okay, that was a long post, but thanks for reading! I will try my best to post English articles as well, so please check out my other articles!
