Sperm can die in a sauna!?

Conclusion: Saunas cause a temporary decrease in sperm count, but they quickly recover.

First, sperm are heat-sensitive, so a sauna with a temperature of nearly 100 degrees Celsius “temporarily reduces sperm volume.”

In fact, in a study conducted by the University of Sydney in Australia that examined the relationship between saunas and sperm

“After 20 minutes in a dry sauna at 85°C and relative humidity of 10% or less, sperm volume decreased by two-thirds one week after sauna exposure. However, sperm counts returned to normal after 5 weeks in the sauna. After another 10 weeks, the number of sperm increased from normal. And although some abnormalities in sperm morphology were observed, they returned to normal after six weeks.”

Furthermore, in a group study in Thailand

A decrease in sperm migration speed was observed immediately after two weeks in a sauna at around 85°C for 30 minutes every day. However, within one week after the sauna, the sperm count, sperm quantity, and morphological abnormalities were normalized.

That’s right, it has been found that even though saunas temporarily reduce sperm counts, they return to normal and even increase after a few weeks! For some people, everything is back to normal within a week.

If you are in the sauna a lot during the week and are a little concerned about the effect on your sperm, why not take a little sauna break?

I think you could even enjoy a pseudo-sauna in a hot/cold alternating bath at a spa!

Sperm morphology is a bad idea…

But some people have shown abnormal sperm morphology, is that okay?”

Isn’t that dangerous?” Some of you may be thinking, “But, some people have abnormal sperm morphology.

Surely, “abnormal sperm morphology” sounds terrible!
But don’t worry.

The most common cause of abnormal sperm morphology is “underwear”. Wearing tight-fitting pants is much worse than taking a sauna.

Long-time smartphone use” and “prolonged bicycle riding” are also factors that contribute to abnormal sperm morphology.

Neither of these are things we can avoid much in our daily lives!
The effect of sauna on sperm is only “some morphological abnormalities may be seen in some people”, so you don’t need to worry that much!

I want my sperm healthy, just in case!

Still, saunas are not entirely immune to the effects of sperm.

If that’s the case, then “I want to keep my sperm healthy in my daily life!”

Sperm in a sauna does reduce sperm, but not enough to worry about! It’s much worse to be patient and irritable! lol
