Does taking a sauna help you get rid of brain fatigue and get ideas?

Hello everyone!
My name is “Take” and I am the operator of “Practice of Sauna Activity”.
I’ve also got an easy-to-understand, live commentary on YouTube, so please check it out here (only japanese)!

Some of you may be thinking, “I’ve been assigned a presentation or a project, but I can’t come up with any ideas,” or “I’ve been feeling kind of foggy lately!”

This time we’re going to tell you about the relationship between saunas and the brain!

This article will help you…
・The connection between ideas and saunas.
・The relationship between business and sauna!
・Understand how to get rid of brain fatigue!

Let’gooooo!!!!!!

Sauna can help with brain fatigue.

Even when you’re in a daze, you’re still using brain energy.

Some people may think they are in a daze and not thinking about anything, but work, love, and other miscellaneous thoughts may be running through their minds.

In fact, even in that state, as much as 70-80% of the brain’s energy is being used.

Conversely, the brain energy used to focus on something or think about something only increases by an additional 5%!

Relationship between DMN and CEN.

Usually more DMN.

The key to brain fatigue is to suppress the brain circuits that work when you are in a daze (called DMN) and activate the brain circuits that work when you are focused (called CEN)

DMN (daze) and CEN (concentration) are opposites, but DMN (daze) is by far the larger of the two, so even if you get absorbed in the task at hand and switch to CEN, you will quickly switch to DMN (daze).

So, sauna is a great way to force the brain to stop thinking!

This reduces the consumption of DMN (daze), and you feel a sense of clearing your brain of garbage and clearing your head!

This is a unique effect of the sauna that you just can’t get in a bath!

Ideas come more easily and inspiration improves.

Dr. Yasutaka Kato, President of the Japan Sauna Society, has conducted research on the effects of sauna on the brain.

Using MEG, a machine that measures brain waves with high precision, he examined the brains of 20 people before they entered the sauna.

The right side of the brain, the parietal lobe, is the area that controls music and space, including the senses, while the left side controls language and logic (in the case of right-handed people).

After taking a sauna, the right side of the parietal lobe, which was expected to be well-organized and at rest, was activated!
This means that ideas are more likely to come to mind after taking a sauna.

The sensory part is activated!

Also, if you are not used to going to an unfamiliar sauna, you will unconsciously feel tense and use DMN.

It’s good to explore saunas, of course, but if you want to prioritize your ideas, etc. Let’s go to a sauna that you are used to going to.

Better concentration and faster work.

Another result of Dr. Kato’s study mentioned earlier is that the alpha waves in everyone’s brains were normalized.

What this means is that research has reported that when alpha waves normalize, the brain’s cognitive function, working memory, improves.

Working memory is the ability to simultaneously process and remember information, and when this improves, we can start and understand our work faster and get it done faster!

It’s been confirmed that even a morning sauna can make you much more efficient at work, so read on below for more details!

Conclusion

How was it?

Taking a sauna, even in a daze, could reduce the energy we expend and fatigue our brains!

It also activated the part of my brain that controls my senses, making it easier to come up with ideas and increasing my inspiration!

And it turns out that my brain’s working memory improved, making me work faster and increasing my concentration!

If you are a businessman who is feeling bogged down with work, why don’t you take a sauna and reset yourself to forget about everything!

Okay, that was a long post, but thanks for reading! I will try my best to post English articles as well, so please check out my other articles!
